【摘要】We examine the effect of an in situ housing program that has greatly improved housing conditions for the poor in a minority region in China. We find that housing condition improvement significantly increases earned income for the poor. Our mechanism analyses show that this positive income effect is due to health improvement and investment increase caused by housing condition improvement. We also compare the effect of this program with a local relocation program and find that the relocation program has no significant effects on the earned income.
【主講人簡(jiǎn)介】薛森博士，畢業(yè)于澳大利亞國(guó)立大學(xué)，暨南大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)與社會(huì)研究院長(zhǎng)聘副教授，Journal of Population Economics副主編。研究領(lǐng)域?yàn)閼?yīng)用微觀經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)，包括發(fā)展經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、勞動(dòng)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、微觀計(jì)量經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)等。
